Nike continues its Dunk roll-out after the year’s end with a new model, the Dunk Low SP “City Market”. It’s clear to see that they are now making moves to push the Dunk as one of their focal lines. Similar to when they first released years ago, Nike has been dropping strong color-blocked pairs, now introducing wilder designs.
An instantly eye-catching design, the “City Market” Dunk feature a colorful upper reminiscent of a “What The” release. The upper has an upcycled look to it, with what looks like a burlap upper and transparent swooshes & tongues. With each panel featuring a unique pattern to it, “Blue Ribbon Studios” can be found written on the shoes – a nod to Nike’s beginnings. A vibrant Green heel counter and tab can be found toward the back of the model. Flattened rope laces combine with a Beige sock liner and outsole to round off an earthy combination.
The shoes also carry a strong influence of farming and the food industry all considered. The tongue tag (based on a Nutrition Facts label) & burlap upper featuring inspired graphics strongly emphasize this vibe. Bearing in mind the name of the shoe, we have a feeling this may be Nike’s way of paying homage to the countless people who support the rest of society.
The “City Market” Dunk is expected to set to drop March 4, for $110. For now, enjoy early pictures below and let us know what you think of this intriguing pair. As always, stay locked into Nice Kicks for the latest sneaker releases and information!
