One of the most groundbreaking and culturally transcendent sneaker innovations of our generation, Flyknit technology is set to take on a new existence. Nike, looking to extend the intuitive nature of this phenomenon, recently filed a patent that could change everything.
Back on December 29, Nike filed for a “footwear designing tool” to coincide with the 500 some-odd Flyknit-related patents they’ve amassed in recent times. This looks to be an indicator that Nike is strengthening their NIKEiD customization platform to incorporate Flyknit construction.
The interface suggest that sneakerheads will be able to actually pick and choose the yarns colors for their kicks. The patent also suggest that this new advancement may include some sort of wearable technology implementation.
Stay tuned for more on what is initially being deemed the Nike “smart” sneaker.
