The city of Cleveland is on fire, celebrating their first championship sporting team in over 50 years. It’s a tragic and gloomy narrative turned triumphant and redeeming tale of vigilance.
One of the largest reminders prior to last night’s win of potential greatness in the city is LeBron James‘ massive “Witness” banner in the city’s epicenter. The 212-foot wide mural that resides just across the street from Quicken Loans Center was recently updated by Nike to reflect James’ heroics and the city’s newfound glory.
James, whose back faces the city with “Cleveland” in place of his last name on his jersey, now sees the word “Champions” above his famous chalk toss pose with the Cavs “C” logo heading the word.
It’s hard to imagine this banner coming down anything time soon. Surely, it’ll be a point of reference during the Cavs upcoming parade.
