One of the more colorful sneakers in the Nike Basketball’s HyperFam collection, the Nike Hyperdunk Low 2017 “Chicago” not only plays homage to Chi-town but also to Saieed Ivey.
Ivey grew up in Chicago and was a Simeon High School graduate who unfortunately passed away in Los Angeles in 2016. He coined the phrase “Failure Is Not An Option” (FINAO), which after his death has become a rallying cry among Chicago hoopers.
The Nike Hyperdunk Low 2017 “Chicago” honors Ivey’s legacy with FINAO written in graffiti-inspired lettering throughout the multi-colored upper. A white speckled midsole and all black outsole finishes the look of the sneaker, which will be released along with the rest of the HyperFam city collection in early August.
