In 2008, Nike unveiled the latest innovative silhouette that aimed at taking the basketball world by storm – that model would be the Nike Hyperdunk. Debuting Flywire technology and Lunar cushioning to the hardwood, the Nike Hyperdunk would be a first of its kind.
Utilizing a clean toe-box and adjacent structuring, the Nike Hyperdunk would go on to be sported by lead endorser Kobe Bryant and members of the “Redeem Team” as they captured Gold in Beijing. This model would also debut a slew of memorable commercials such as the USA Basketball ad featuring the iconic Marvin Gaye and the ever so popular footage of Kobe Bryant “jumping” over an Aston Martin, as seen below.
