Nike Air Flight Huarache

When the University of Michigan’s “Fab Five” took the court rocking the Nike Air Flight Huarache, people loved them without really knowing what to make of them. Tinker Hatfield used inspirations from two completely different spectrums (Mayan sandals and the neoprene fit of water skis) to create the shoes upper. The Huarache?s extraordinary designed paved the way for more innovative shoes in the ?90s, such as the crisscrossing strap of the Nike Air Raid, and the synthetic upper on the shoe we now know as ?Foams?. Debuted again on collegiate courts during the 1997 Final Four, The Nike Air Foamposite One shocked people with its cutting edge design and unforeseen aesthetic. There is no doubt the Eric Avar’s brainchild was ahead of it?s time, as it is more popular today than it was then, and has spawned many other shoes using foamposite material.
