The Oklahoma City Thunder debuted an all black Nike KD II in the team’s first playoff game against the Lakers last night. Fittingly, we highlighted Kevin Durant’s teammates’ shoes in Kicks On Court and we also saw this special pair for KD himself. Now we’re getting a closer look at the shoe only Kevin wore and may continue to wear, and breaking down some of its details.
The shoe utilizes a black leather upper, and puts blue trim to work on the edges of each and every panel, including the strap. The same Photo Blue color surrounds the black Swoosh. The KD Two logo that normally appears on the strap has been replaced with two block letters surrounded with orange thread. Three stars appear on the K and five are on the D–an ode to Durant’s jersey number. A multicolor liner ties in all the colors of the Thunder’s jerseys, and a special label can be found on the tongue.
