Originally released in early 2015, the Nike Kobe 9 Elite “What The” will be making its 10th-anniversary return for Summer 2025 in its Protro form.
Although no official images have surfaced as of yet, the upcoming Nike Kobe 9 Elite High Protro “What The” will more than likely sport the same aesthetics as its predecessor. Just like the OG release, the pair will be a masterful blend of design and performance, paying homage to Kobe Bryant’s illustrious career and his impact on basketball culture.
This model, known for its high-top design and Flyknit construction, offers an innovative mix of support and flexibility. The “What The” iteration takes this a step further by incorporating a collage of vibrant colors and patterns, drawing inspiration from various iconic Kobe 9 releases. The shoe features a mix of bold hues and intricate designs, creating a visually striking sneaker that stands out both on and off the court.
Performance-wise, the Kobe 9 Elite High Protro “What The” will boast upgrades to its performance features, further keeping the Kobe 9 Elite a favorite among athletes. The original Lunarlon cushioning is replaced with a drop-in React foam for improved comfort and responsiveness. Additionally, a full-length Zoom Air unit is added for superior impact protection and energy return.
Mark your calendars as the Nike Kobe 9 Elite High Protro “What The” will return for Summer 2025 via Nike.com and select retailers for $300. Keep it locked to our Sneaker Release Dates Calendar for updates.
