For the first time, two low-top Kobe models are available for customization on NIKEiD simultaneously. With yesterday’s big news of the Kobe 9 Elite Low being added to the list of customizable silhouettes, we examine the different options available for the Nike Kobe 9 EM and the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low while comparing and contrasting the two.
Outsole

Both performance Kobe models have a near-limitless amount of color options and five different outsole types – Solid, Translucent, Glow in the Dark, Multi and XDR Outdoor. One distinguishable aspect in the Kobe 9 EM’s customization is the ability to alter the color of the outsole shank, the area seen between the midsole and outsole. On the contrary, one of the Kobe 9 Elite’s options, which is not available for the Kobe 9 EM, is the ability to incorporate Black Ice on the translucent outsole. The Kobe 9 EM simply features a Black color option.
