Kyrie Irving is carving out his own path in the NBA, one not overshadowed by anything, and as we learned recently via his unexpected trade request, anyone. Today, he aligns his third signature shoe, the Nike Kyrie 3, with another uniquely individualistic character – Kobe Bryant.
Inspired by Bryant’s love for “Bruce Lee” and the Kobe 5 fueled by that affinity in 2009, Kyrie debuts his very own “Bruce Lee” Kyrie 3 of a similar volition. Irving utilizes part of his logo at the tongue fused with part of Bryant’s Mamba logo in duality, while the larger portion of the shoe appears in yellow which odes Bruce Lee’s famed outfit. Lee’s iconic chest scaring is added to the forefoot for greater effect while black branding balances the look.
In our recent interview with Kyrie he stated his love for the “Bruce Lee” Kobe V, also saying the Air Jordan 6 was his favorite shoe. Could an AJ6 homage be on the way next for Kyrie?
Irving, who debuted the shoe via his IG, didn’t indicate if the model would see a general release or not. Stay tuned for more details on Kyrie’s Nike line.
