Although Kyrie Irving isn’t playing this postseason due to a knee injury and subsequent surgery on said knee, his Boston Celtics have soldiered ahead, squaring off against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Irving, though, is still the team’s leader and will be there in support of the youthful Celts.
Irving’s playoff inspiration is felt through the Nike Kyrie 4 “Point Bricks” release. A reference to Irving’s 41 point outburst in the 2016 NBA Finals that ultimately helped lift the Cavs to their first-ever championship, odes to Irving’s slow start to the game and his perseverance to overcome that slow start to eventually have a monster game.
