For the Boston Celtics recent game against the Chicago Bulls, on December 8, Nike produced a special edition Nike Kyrie 5 for Kyrie Irving — in honor of his late mother and her tribe.
Dubbed the Nike Kyrie 5 “Little Mountain” PE, the shoe odes to Elizabeth Ann Larson, Irving’s late mother, who was an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. A seal in ode to her tribe is placed at the silhouette’s tongue while “Little Mountain” appears at the toebox in reference to the Lakota name officially bestowed to Irving in August by the Standing Rock Sioux tribe.
As this player exclusive Kyrie 5 is clearly very unique to Irving, it is not expected to release. To understand more about Irving’s relationship with his lone parent, watch his latest Nike ad.
