Energy propelling LeBron James‘ fifteenth signature sneaker forward has helped the shoe reach heights few thought it would ever see. Firstly, to that end, James just capped off one of his best regular seasons in recent memory. One for which he’s in the discussion for league MVP alongside James Harden. Moreover, Nike’s #LeBronWatch has ascended the shoe far beyond just that of another signature shoe. It’s something much more. Something much greater.

This inventive program has turned the shoe into a modern-day time capsule to honor all the Nike athletes and sneakers we admire and adore. James holds those very same things dear, which creates a connect-ability through a shared love for past sports heroes and the iconic sneakers they wore.

Vince Carter’s Nike Shox BB4 is James’ latest obsession. For his 2018 NBA Playoffs opener against the Indiana Pacers, James laced up the Nike LeBron 15 “BB4” edition. Its BattleKnit upper appears largely in black juxtaposed with a Metallic Silver layer to ode the original Nike Shox BB4 colorway. Subtle hits of royal reverberate at the heel and rear airbag creating a direct correlation to the shoe Vince Carter donned in the early days of his 20-year NBA tenure.

As we dive deeper into the NBA Playoffs, it’ll be interesting to see which direction #LeBronWatch will take and, more importantly, which pairs will release. This one, at current time, doesn’t appear to be a retail release.
