Before the Lakers became regarded as the team at the helm of Los Angeles, they represented the city of Minneapolis. Named after Minnesota’s nickname, “The Land of 10,000 Lakes,” the Lakers moved to Los Angeles in 1960 and have been rocking purple and gold ever since. However, this all-new Nike LeBron 19 throws it back to the ’50s when the Lakers were seen in University Blue and Gold.
This iteration of the Nike LeBron 19 comes constructed with an eggshell-colored synthetic textile upper and TPU overlays that run along the midfoot and heel. For contrast, accents of university blue, purple, and yellow make their way throughout the sneaker. The King James crown logo sits atop the tongue, which is stabilized with integrated Flywire cables for a secure fit. To complete the look, the sneaker is finished with a forefoot Zoom Air unit, with dual-chambered Max Air, and a mismatched rubber outsole.
The Minneapolis Lakers-inspired Nike LeBron 19 will be available soon via Nike.com and select retailers. The price is set at $200. Be sure to check back with our Sneaker Release Date page for official info and updates on the drop.
