This spring you won’t find LeBron James doing it for the ‘gram. Nope, everything he’s doing is for the ‘ship. The Nike LeBron Soldier 12 sees the King’s second signature series continuing its postseason positioning while playing to #23’s social media absence.
Debuting in the triple-black “Dark 23” colorway, it is uncertain when LeBron will lace them given the excitement surrounding his PE program — aka #LeBronWatch — that while remiss at retail is still seeing dope do-ups like his recent BB4 homage.
Still, the Soldier series has never been all about ‘Bron as the next generation has always worn and informed the line. Using feedback from amateur and professional players alike, the postseason driven Soldier 12 is all about stripped-down toughness.
“The Soldier was always meant to be stripped down in the best possible way,” Jason Petrie told Nike SNKRS. “Even early on, LeBron’s insight was that the playoffs and the regular season are different. The Soldier has always been about toughness and connecting to the playoffs, in particular.”
The result is a focused piece of footwear built around aspects of the LeBron 15 like a circular knit upper and protective heel and toe caps, bolstered by a wider range of Velcro for more malleable lockdown and uniquely shaped Zoom Air units for lightweight bounce and court feel.
