Earlier this week, rumors hit the web that the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 3.0 would be releasing this upcoming holiday season. This caused people to raise brows at Nike as earlier this year, Tom Sachs was under fire when former employees came forward with disturbing accusations about the artist’s workplace environment.
With this in mind, many were surprised that Nike planned to continue working with Tom Sachs, but turns out, this release rumor is untrue. Nike will not be moving forward with Tom Sachs, per Complex.
We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned.

While it’s still believed that Tom Sachs and Nike were in-fact working on a third Mars Yard sneaker together, it seems that the Swoosh has no plans to materialize the project — at least in the meantime.
Nike did not explicitly state that the relationship with Sachs is indefinitely done, but for the time being, it seems that any upcoming releases are not to be expected.
We’re deeply concerned by the very serious allegations. We’re in contact with Tom and his studio seeking to better understand this situation and how these issues are being addressed.

Since the allegations, a number of the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe releases have been put on pause, with colorways like “Pine Green” and “Gorge Green” left as TBD.
Sachs is responsible for some of the most memorable moments in sneakers with unforgettable silhouettes like Nike Mars Yard 1.0 and the Nike Mars Yard Overshoe. Even the recent NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe caused a ruckus as sneakerheads were flocking to their local Kohl’s, which were stocked with the anti-exclusive sneakers.
