Summer has always been serious for Kevin Durant. Back in 2011 when the upcoming NBA season was in jeopardy, basketball didn’t stop for the Thunder superstar. Making an impromptu appearance in New York City, KD lit up for 66 points and a W at world-famous Rucker Park, just a few shy of the all-time court record. In cognizance of the classic showing, Duran’t latest signature sneaker has received a “NYC 66” style code. A bright orange upper representing the jersey color KD tore up Rucker in is kept in check by graphite and light grey accenting to create an eye-catching appearance.
Promoted by Kevin Durant’s new “Nicknames” Commercial, the Nike KD VI “NYC 66” will be available globally on August 17th at select Nike outlets, along with correlating accessories. Does your calendar include the 66, or is this colorway going to be nixed? Punch a line into the feedback box below, and keep it locked to Nice Kicks for all of your sneaker news and information.
