Following the opening of his I Promise School in Akron, Ohio, yesterday, LeBron James continues to have the most impactful week in sports with the introduction and subsequent release of his budding Los Angeles Lakers Icon Swingman jersey.
Harkening back to the Showtime Lakers of the ’80s, much of the jersey’s aesthetic is built around the concept of paying respect to Lakers glory days. From the rounded neckline to the heritage-based Lakers font and number shaping, James’ new chapter with the Lakers is fused with the legacy of the team’s past.
