The iconic Nike Roshe Run is returning in Fall 2023.

This culture-shifting silhouette first debuted in 2012 and ushered in a new era of sneakers, which at the time had been dominated by bulky silhouettes like the Air Jordan 11 and Nike Air Foamposites.

We didn’t know it then, but the Nike Roshe Run was exactly what we needed at the time. It was a sleek and simple sneaker, but innovative enough to pull fashion out of the trenches of the swag era.

2012 was a confusing time for fashion as we officially left the early 2000’s and were beginning to define the 2010’s. The swag era was fading out, the Odd Future wave was fading in, and Kanye West’s transformative Yeezus era was on the horizon. Yet somehow in the middle of all this, the Nike Roshe Run prevailed.

With the inevitable rise of the adidas Yeezy Boost 350, Roshes were soon discontinued by 2014, but its influence on sneakers and fashion as a whole remains relevant and undeniable.

The running-inspired lifestyle shoe retailed at $70 and was an accessible model that anyone could get their hands on. For the re-launch, the pairs will first release in Nike’s “Unite” stores, otherwise known as their outlet locations. However, various colorways will be offered online as well.

One of the best things about the Roshe’s return is that the sneaker is expected to be priced at $75 a pair, which is only a $5 increase from the silhouette’s original price in 2012.
