In 2011 when Nike Sportswear introduced the Nike Roshe Run, the shoe took the sneaker world by storm. At an affordable $70, the Nike Roshe Run provided consumers with a very low cost alternative to Nike Lunar and Nike Free with a more simplistic look and feel with a simple two-piece upper.

Spun in literally hundreds of colorways and iterations including the Nike Roshe Run NM and Flyknit, the shoe proved to be more than a one hit wonder, but rather a staple franchise within the Nike Sportswear lineup. Nike had a new legend on its hands.

Not long ago, it was noticed that Nike Store had renamed the Nike Roshe Run to the Nike Roshe One which led many of us in the sneaker media world to think that a sequel would be on its way – and it has arrived.

The Nike Roshe Two aims to provide what the original Roshe Run (or Roshe One if you want to be technical on the name) with a simple upper, but added features including an embossed swoosh, Nike Huarache style tongue, and what appears to be full-length Nike Lunar cushioning that peeks through a cutaway outsole.

By many accounts, the Nike Roshe Two is everything that was the OG we all fell in love with and more. With the added features, the price does kick up slightly to a reported $100 MSRP, but nothing yet has been confirmed by Nike.

Look for the Nike Roshe Two to debut in 2016 as Nike Sportswear aims to energize the market with new, original silhouettes, retakes on old gems, and the classics that are never to be forgotten. Initial colorways look to build on the legacy of the line coming in some original colors and staples we see season after season.
