Some Gen-Zers may not get the reference, but Nike SB is set to release a camcorder-themed Dunk Low at the end of the month. Inspired by the handheld Sony DCR-VX1000 camcorder, this Nike SB Dunk Low “Camcorder” sports a grey, white, and black color scheme on its leather and suede construction.
Of course many in the skate community will instantly recognize this sneaker’s design cues as it nods to the camcorder that is popularly used to film skate videos. These nods include “PEAK,” “REC LEVEL,” “WHT BAL,” and “SHUTTER SPEED,” which appear on the rear overlays. Additionally “CONTROL” is spotlighted on the Swoosh insignia, while “PLAYER” appears on the quarter panel. Rounding out the final details are red and yellow eyelets as a nod to record buttons, an aqua heel tab, and a white midsole and grey translucent outsole.
Those interested will be able to purchase the Nike SB Dunk Low “Camcorder” when they land at select Orange Label skate shops located around Europe and Asia. Unfortunately, due to production issues, this model will not hit the US. Time to scout the resell market.
