Nike is utilizing their Special Forces Air Force 1 silhouette as a vessel to honor specific regions of the U.S. They began with Baltimore, a pivotal place for the continued growth of the Air Force 1 in the ’80s. Now they shift that momentum to the west coast and the city of Los Angeles.
This women’s edition is crafted in a white ballistic nylon upper with Lakers centric purple and gold accents throughout the mid-cut militaristic style. “Los Angeles” appears across the shoe’s top strap while “The Force is Female” marks the shoe’s purple laces. Those very laces are held in place by a gold lace jewel. To finish the look, the medial siding features a basketball embossed in purple joined by a floral wreath encapsulating it.
Look for the Nike SF-AF1 Mid “LA” on October 12 exclusively at Nordstrom x Nike Century City in Los Angeles.
