Militaristic aesthetics have been at the forefront of sneaker culture for some time now. Camouflage continues to orbit the genre with great consistency and above average success. Yet it was the Nike Air Force 1 that upped the ante to the highest degree, when the Special Forces edition released in November 2016.
The latest from the silhouette in mid-cut form comes in monotone “Triple Black.” Both leather and ballistic nylon converge to build the boot-like frame, the latter of which is a direct derivative of military combat gear. Straps rest overtop the ankle collar while zipped construction punctuates the look at the heel.
