Nike is expanding its lauded footwear lineup to include its first-ever indoor cycling shoe dubbed The Nike SuperRep Cycle.
Officially unveiled at the beginning of this month, it comes at a perfect time considering most of the world is still practicing self-isolation during the current COVID-19 pandemic. As the Swooshes’ first indoor cycling footwear offering, the shoe has been designed with both stability and breathability (on and off the bike) in mind.
The Nike SuperRep Cycle boasts a supporting arc on the medial side to help keep feet secured during various combinations such including “Figure 8s.” A lightweight, translucid mesh upper coupled with a perforated sock liner allows for more breathability, solving the issue of heavy and wet shoes during a hard workout.
Finally a simple closure system makes getting on and off the bike easier, while rubber studs and a textured toe plate provide traction while walking to and from the bike. Additionally the Nike SuperRep Cycle works for both caged or clipped-in riders.
As part of Nike’s SuperRep family, the Nike SuperRep Cycle is already available to purchase in Europe and will see a stateside release on May 26. A global release will follow on June 1.
