A bit of bad news surfaced this weekend for some local retailers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,?as some found out that Nike will be ?exercising their right to terminate [their] accounts? on June 30, 2013. One of the retailers is Real McCoy Athletic Footwear, whose sales from Nike products alone make up 75-80%. Other stores in the area affected are Top Shoes, Center City Sports and Shoe Plus. In an official statement sent to CBS3 in Philadelphia, Nike stated:
?Nike is constantly evaluating its distribution needs with a view to enhancing its brand. This includes adapting our distribution strategy to the changes in our consumers? purchasing behavior, the retail landscape, and our brand strategy.?

No word if Nike will be exercising this right in other cities, but stay informed with Nice Kicks for the latest information pertaining to this story.
