Merging the time-tested appeal of the Pegasus performance line with the innovations touted on the modern Vaporfly series, the Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo aims to offer avid runners everything they need and nothing they don’t.
Sleek, lightweight and fast as expected, the model’s calling card is the ZoomX foam featured on the recent Vaporfly releases ran in by some of the world’s best marathon racers. Functionally, the 85% energy return rate from the foam featured in the midsole is the greatest ever seen by Nike. Up top, translucent mesh, Flywire cables and a seamless structure pull it all together.
What’s most noticeably missing on the Pegasus Turbo, or PegTurbo for those into breevs, is the carbon flight plate positioned on Vaporfly Elite and 4%. This is by design. While the slappiness and structure of the plate is prime for PRs come race day, it’s a little much for everyday jogs and training. The result is a softer, lighter ride for everyday mileage.
Slated to release to the world on August 2nd, NikePlus members will have an early shot at these come July 19th. Until then, peep pics of the new Pegasus below.
