A never-before-seen Nike Zoom Power “Summit Lake Hornets” Sample has surfaced online, showing the early days of original Nike LeBron 6.
This rare sample has a black mesh upper with purple laces and a matching sockliner. The sneaker has a protective mudguard that wraps around the base and is doubled-up with a blue layer that features a hexagon print. The purple and turquoise colorway is a tribute to LeBron’s middle school days where the future king played with the Summit Lake Hornets.
This sneaker was the final sample of the original Nike LeBron 6 and would have almost been sent to production if the senior management had not asked to redesign the sneaker. At the time, the Nike team wanted to change the technological direction for the following season.
