We’ve heard stories of unreleased prequel shoes like the Air Max Zero, but could the next Off-White x Air Jordan 1 possibly be the first?
Following Virgil going 10-for-10 on his first Nike collaborative collection, his “Chicago” take on the Air Jordan 1 is the toast of the industry, winning awards as best of the year before the year is yet to even end. Heck, we can’t even argue against it. While that Bulls homage hit home for sneakerheads in and out of the Windy City, an all-white Off-White x Air Jordan 1 sample has surfaced and there’s a good chance it’s not only next but perhaps the first.
As you may recall, our own Ray Polanco was on hand to cover Virgil’s very anticipated OFF-CAMPUS event. During the event, Abloh claimed that the original Off-White x Air Jordan 1 was supposed to be all white, much like the 97s in the collection. However, upon seeing an airport attendee in all-white Dunk Highs he realized they looked nearly identical. Such a slip on his first Air Jordan design would turn the HYPEBEAST section ablaze, dooming The 10 before it even launched. The Jordan 1s were switched to a “Chicago” motif in the final stages of rollout.
Still, could the original AJ1 from Virgil be the next? An on-foot spotting has our hopes up, let us know if you’d like to see these launch on social and in the comments section.
