In an exclusive interview with the New York Times following the one-year anniversary of the passing of Virgil Abloh, Shannon Abloh, Virgil’s widow, spoke with the publication on what’s next for her as she’s created Virgil Abloh Securities to combine all his creative ventures.
Ms. Abloh talks about life after Virgil’s passing and what’s next for all the creative projects as Shannon is also the Chief Executive of Architecture, a joint venture with Nike. In the article, Chief Creative Officer of Nike John Hoke states that there’s a year’s worth of OFF-WHITE x Nike products on the way and possibly more to come as Architecture continues to build out. With the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Terra Forma on the way and the Codes c/o Architecture exhibit at Art Basel 2022 showcasing unseen and unreleased colorways of multiple collaborative sneakers, we’re excited to see what’s to come in the future.
In the article’s imagery, Shannon can be seen wearing the Off-White x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” Sample, which was exclusively created for the MCA Chicago exhibition. This particular Off-White x Jordan 4 draws inspiration from the original “Bred” sneaker famously worn by Michael Jordan during the 1989 “The Shot” game against Craig Ehlo. According to @heat.forya.feet and @sunsetsnkrs, unfortunately, there are no plans to release the pair to the public.
