When Serena Williams stepped into Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens yesterday for the start of her first US Open since giving birth, she was dressed head to toe in her OFF WHITE x Nike “Queen” collection. Wearing a bomber jacket and, the outfit she’d play in, a black and brown dress tulle shirt designed by Virgil Abloh, Williams was both powerful and full of grace following a new rule that prohibited the “catsuit” she’d worn in the past.

On her feet was the OFF WHITE x NikeCourt Flare 2 PE, a high arching performance model made exclusively for Williams’ forceful yet elegant movements. But it was her lifestyle shoe that made all the noise when Serena took the court last night, where she easily beat Magda Linette (6-4, 6-0) in straight sets during the opening round of the 50th annual US Open.

The OFF WHITE x Nike Air Max 97 “Queen” released on Nike SNKRS just before Serena’s first serve. As expected, the shoe quickly sold through as many shoes with Abloh’s name and subsequent design often tend to.

There is still the release of the OFF WHITE x Nike Blazer “Queen” and the aforementioned NikeCourt Flare 2 PE to look forward to. Nike has not yet released details on those shoes.
