I remember like it was yesterday when these joints dropped. I had come back home from college for Christmas break and remember catching up with some of my friends from high school and all we were talking about were the Cool Grey 11s. It was the first and last time I had ever camped out for a shoe. I remember being so excited sitting outside of Stonecrest Mall in Lithonia, GA in my car blasting music with my friends and girlfriend sipping on hot chocolate. Once it was time to go in, I remember someone opening a side door entrance and everyone basically made a mad dash to the respective retailers to get in line. I went to Footlocker, my GF went to Finishline, and my brother went to DTLR. The mission was to get me a size 8 or 8.5. After standing in line for I don’t know how long, and watching all my friends walk past me with their kicks, I was almost ready to leave. That is until Footlocker made an announcement that they only had a size 8 and 8.5 left. Everyone in the line except for one other person left and I wound up with the last size 8. Though I had a lot of fun and it’s a totally different experience, it was the last release I ever camped for. I’m not about that life. Haha.
