Backwards cap and all, Griffey had a landmark season in ’97 as he hit 56 home runs and took home the AL MVP Award. The Kid’s first MVP season saw the launch of his second signature the Nike Griffey Max 2. Emerald hints and Air Max cushioning were carried over from the original, but the strap was ditched in favor of carbon fiber detail.
