Last year, a group of Nike Air Max 1s designed in Amsterdam impressed enough of the right people to deserve the number two spot on Complex’s Top 10 of 2009. Those four were attributed to the team members at Patta of course, but it is their neighbor and close associate, artist Parra, who is behind this Burgundy pair, which are set to release March 13th. This shoe became a fan favorite the second it hit the web. We’ve taken numerous looks at these shoes, but this is the first time we’ve had a detailed look. From the looks of it, the burgundy suede that appears on the mudguard, quarter panels, heel and forefoot is of a premium grade. Mesh fills in the remainder of the upper in a matching hue. To match the laces, eyelets and medial Swoosh logos, a bit of the outsole is the same color. Red and yellow are also used on parts of the outsole. Finally, the carpeted Parra tag on the tongue further separates these from your everyday Air Max 1s. |
