For its latest collaboration, California-mainstay Vans has tapped Amsterdam’s famed streetwear label Patta for a collaborative Fall/Winter 2020 range that celebrates rude boy culture.
The celebratory range pulls heavily from the strong British-Jamaican influences on rude boy cultures and includes new versions of the Vans Chukka 79 VLT LX and the Style 36 VLT LX.
First up, the Chukka 79 VLT LX riffs on the colors of the Rastafari flag, while the Style 36 TC VLT LX arrives in a “Spectrum Blue” colorway that nods to the Union Jack. Serving as an homage to reggae artist Ini Kamoze, the phrase “OUT IN THE STREETS” has been embellished on the outsole.
Each model is crafted from ballistic nylon, premium suede details, white contrasting stitching, and black leather lining. In terms of branding, white Patta logos come in on the heels, while Vans’ signature “Off the Walls” motif is found underneath.
The Patta x Vans FW20 collection is set to release in limited quantities via Patta’s app on October 30 and its website on October 31.
