As sneaker fans, we say or hear the word ‘Nike‘ just about everyday and we surely think about it even more. Whether it be amongst peers, parents or people outside of the footwear sphere, there has always been some ambiguity regarding exactly how the company name is pronounced. Recently, two British students named Ben Martin and Kendal Peters took the time to write Phil Knight, asking him to settle the score surrounding the official pronunciation of his company’s name. Surprisingly, Knight took the time to write them back. By circling the correct pronunciation, Phil confirmed that Nike is in fact a two-syllable word.
