In honor of Nike, Inc. founder Phil Knight‘s 80th birthday, the brand is set to host the inaugural PK80 double-bracket basketball tournament. The games will take place between November 23-26 in Portland, Oregon, and will feature special edition footwear and uniforms inspired by Knight’s personal style.
Known for his signature all-black outfits and gleaming sunglasses often donned while cheering on his alma mater, the University or Oregon, Nike Basketball has outfitted six of their most celebrated models in corresponding palettes. The Nike Kyrie 3, PG1, Kobe A.D. Mid, KDX, Super.Fly 2017 and Air Jordan XXX2 will also undertake a Black/Iridescent scheme while the collegiate teams involved will also debut slightly altered team uniforms.
Programs participating include: Arkansas, Butler, Connecticut, Duke, DePaul, Florida, Gonzaga, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas. All games will take place at Portland-area arenas including the MODA Center, Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the Knight Arena.
