The Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro is taking over. The shoe marked its return at the beginning of the year thanks to the release of the “Chaos” colorway. The shoe’s momentum slowed down despite the previews of colorways such as the “Big Stage” and “Bruce Lee” iteration, among others. The tragic death of the Mamba, in combination with COVID-19 related sneaker delays, has placed a lot of ambiguity on the entire rollout of the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro.
However, the return of the NBA/WNBA and the upcoming Mamba Week is rumored to be the jump-off point for the silhouette once more. With the “Lakers,” “EYBL,” and “Big Stage” colorways releasing before the end of August, more Kobe 5s are finally coming soon.
Reigning Kicks On Court champion PJ Tucker teased another Kobe 5. According to the sneaker superstar and his Instagram story, the colorway is his own PE set to release at some point this year. The shoe arrives in a blue and purple combined upper with a light pink bottom. The overall design follows suit with the rumored Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro “Heart” that could be DeMar DeRozan’s PE lined up for a release as well.
Take a look at the pair below as we await the official release date. Are you looking forward to these? Let us know on social media.
