Hiroshi Fujiwara’s partnership with Nike has roots that date back years. He’s been an instrumental partner for the company, both as a collaborator and a paramount advisor through his role in the HTM collective.
The former, of course, is riddled with designs that we’ll never see at retailers. A large assortment of samples are generally produced before any fragment design x Nike x Jordan Brand release ever sees the light of day. A few of them have surfaced today.
Widely assumed to be from 2014, when the beloved “frag” 1s dropped, this secondary Air Jordan 1 sample is much closer to a “Royal” re-imagining.
Its counterpart is an Air Force 1 Low covered in a black snakeskin texture with fragment branding at the heel. And, upon further examination, you can see the factory “sample” print within the sole of the shoe.
There aren’t any known plans for another fragment design x Nike collaboration. But we’re always hopeful for a new drop, restock, or just about anything Fujiwara wants us to have.
