Amongst all of PUMA‘s archives, the PUMA Clyde OG stands out as a true icon. Named after Walt “Clyde” Frazier, the retro silhouette celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year and PUMA is taking the time to honor the Clyde’s influence in fashion, culture, and basketball.
In 1973, Walt “Clyde” Frazier asked for a custom pair of PUMA Suedes and PUMA took the opportunity to reconfigure the original Suede silhouette. With a lighter and wider structure and stamped Clyde branding on the side, the PUMA Clyde took off and has remained a cultural icon ever since.
Similar to the END. Collection, PUMA praises the Clyde OG in three classic colorways — Red, Green, and Blue. The Clyde OG stays true to its heritage with full suede uppers, gold foiled PUMA Clyde branding on the quarter, and a suede tongue with a PUMA woven label.
The PUMA Clyde OG is available now. The retail price is set at $110 USD. To purchase, visit PUMA.com, the PUMA mobile app, the PUMA NYC Flagship store, and select retailers. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
