3. Jeter Becomes Mr.November
The 2001 season presented trying times for the New York Yankees as the unfortunate events of September 11th casted immense levels of despair across America. However, with many families experiencing pain, Jeter and the Yankees helped provide some solace as the veteran laced team garnered a spot in the 2001 World Series. Despite having the support of the entire United States, the Yankees trailed going into Game 4. With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, Jeter hit a tenth-pitch walk-off home-run to tie the series up at two games a piece. The superstar shortstop did all of this while wearing a Yankees themed Air Jordan 9 PE. Although the Yankees lost in 7 games, Jeter cemented his legacy and a new nickname derived from his play: Mr. November.
