It’s been well over a decade since the Air Jordan 9 Low was a fixture on sneaker shelves. A rarity in the Jordan Brand lineage by all accounts, the low-cut style is slated by make a comeback later this year in a color blocking many of you might remember.
Derek Anderson, who first began his collegiate career at Ohio State, only to later transfer to Kentucky and win a national championship in 1996, was a member of Team Jordan when he was drafted to the NBA in 1997. He would go on to have a stellar assortment of Air Jordan PEs, including a couple of Air Jordan 9 Lows.
One in particular is closely tied to the upcoming Air Jordan 9 Low Black/White-Gym Red, which bears hues that mimic the Miami Heat – Anderson was a part of the 2006 championship team. The palette of the two shoes is said to be very closely joined, although the 2016 release has not yet been vindicated with images. Scheduled for a Jordan Release Date of April 16, stay tuned for more on this Air Jordan 9 Low.
