Our Friday would not be complete without giving you a couple of release reminders to kick your Memorial Day weekend off. As stated yesterday, the “Future Sole” Jordan Melo M6 Black/Taxi-University Blue will release tomorrow, May 29th at select Jordan accounts for $125.
This particular sneaker, a variation of Carmelo Anthony’s Jordan Melo M6, was designed by 17-year-old Austin Jermacans in 2009’s Future Sole Contest. Although this shoe simply began as a winning design in the aforementioned, it ultimately won Carmelo Anthony over which lead to him wearing it sporadically throughout the second half of the season. It possesses elements that are inspired by three of Carmelo’s favorite Air Jordans such as the Air Jordan IX (sparkling, textured nubuck), the Air Jordan XIII (ballistic mesh quarter panel) and the Air Jordan XI (patent leather).
Only 2,000 pairs will release come Saturday at select retailers including Eastbay, Villa and NikeTown. The latter store will also hold a raffle for the chance to win one of six autographed “Future Sole” Jordan Melo M6s in cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Denver. Drawings will be held at 11AM, Saturday morning.
