Three years ago today, the Air Jordan 3 returned in the classic Black/Cement colorway.  The 2011 retro would mark the fourth time that the shoe retroed following its initial debut in 1988.  To many, the Air Jordan 3 is the Greatest Of All Time’s greatest of all time sneaker.  Though Michael Jordan didn’t win a ring the year he wore the shoe, the season he rocked the Jordan 3s was without question one of his greatest nabbing his first NBA MVP, NBA Defensive Player of the Year, All-Star Game MVP, defending his Slam-Dunk Contest title, and NBA Scoring Champ.

It was announced earlier this year that after a long series of regularly releasing retros, the Air Jordan 3 would be given a break.  Perhaps the drought will build up some steam for an ’88 version to release under the Remastered Retro collection complete with Nike Air branding?  One can only hope.
