Earlier today, Jordan Brand re-released a much loved game shoe from just a decade ago, as a retro version of the “Stealth” Air Jordan XX made its way back to stores for the first time since 2005.
Originally designed by Tinker Hatfield just after Michael retired from the game of basketball for good, the XX featured quite a few firsts for the already inventive signature series.
A fully lasered midfoot strap introduced new young fans to Mike’s legacy through some great storytelling. The cushioning setup was entirely new as well, as Independent Podular Suspension (IPS) made its debut as a targeted cylindrical foam cushioning system. Of course, the collar leash strap was entirely new as well, and the shoe’s most polarizing aspect.
With the “Stealth” XX Retro now in stores, check out an original pair in detail below, and see if you can spot any differences.
