Creative Director Riccardo Tisci may have abandoned his post at high-fashion label Givenchy, but the design extraordinaire continues his fruitful partnership with Nike all the same. Taking creative liberties others simply wouldn’t, Tisci does away with traditionalism where the Air Max 97 is concerned and heightens the low-cut silo to a mid.
Giving the shoe a boot-like arch, an extended ankle collar transforms the two decades old model while premium leather and Nike x RT logo branding marks the silhouette’s highest point.
No release details for the RT x Nike Air Max 97 Mid are currently available. But given the impending Air Max Day celebration, later this month sometime doesn’t seem like a stretch. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more.
