Ronnie Fieg is teaming up with PUMA once again, this time collaborating on two classic retro runners for one of his most coveted collaborators. The Ronnie Fieg x PUMA XT-2 “Achromatic” for Dover Street Market is different, but daring, and today we get our first look courtesy of Style.com. The term ‘achromatic’ refers to something without color, and these PUMA XT-2s are also without branding. The duo features all-white and black renditions that are as plain as possible. Known for his color creativity, Fieg himself admits that it is risky to remove all of the branding, but claims that he relishes in the opportunity to create a sneaker that is based on quality alone. According to the creator, this collaboration features “the most luxurious upper ever constructed on a trainer.” Italian glove leather uppers with a supple calfskin lining and quilted detailing compose the luxurious uppers, making for a sneaker that is truly a first of its kind.
