words // Nick DePaula:
As the headlining athlete of the Air Jordan since he joined the brand in the fall of 2013, once again Oklahoma City Thunder star guard Russell Westbrook debuted the newest game shoe on court.
The Air Jordan XXX, officially unveiled just yesterday in Chicago, hit the court on Westbrook’s size 15 feet in the White / Black / University Blue launch colorway set to release next month on February 10th.
Westbrook had himself a hell of a game for his first time out in the shoe, dropping an efficiently smooth 12 / 11 / 10 triple double in just 27 minutes of play.
One thing to mention, is that the toe’s Jumpman logo looks to be black on Russell’s pair, rather than the white Jumpman weave found on the retail pair. Altered logos for on-court brand visibility are nothing new, and a tweak we’ve seen on several pairs worn through the years by LeBron James, Stephen Curry and many other signature athletes.
While not everyone (Ex: Me) has been thrilled with the 30th edition of the Air Jordan series, how do you think they look on court, when put to the test for their intended use? Let us know in the comment section below, and on Twitter.
