Although rumors of the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” returning have been floating around since earlier this year, no confirmation from Jordan Brand ever truly cemented the release as fact. Today, though, in anticipation of the upcoming Air Jordan XXX1, Russell Westbrook confirmed the release of the shoe in conjunction with the brand’s 31st signature model.
In a new video released by Jordan Brand earlier today, Russ is seen holding the 2011 “Banned” Jordan 1’s and talking about the 2016 bringback. “To bring [the Jordan 1] back out, for me to be a part of that,” Westbrook expressed, “it’s a blessing.”
The September 3 Jordan Release Date that has been rumored for some time now could still hold, but it hasn’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for more and check out the clip below.
