Last season to congratulate Russell Westbrook for winning the MVP, Brand Jordan gave him the Air Jordan XXX1/10/10 PE Pack. And with Sunday being his 29th birthday, Westbrook decided to celebrate his special day by rocking the Air Jordan 10 “MVP Orange” PE from the sneaker pack against the Dallas Mavericks.
Sporting an electrifying orange throughout the entire shoe, Westbook added his own personal touch by writing his signature slogan “Why Not?” on the toe boxes. Also sticking to his tradition, Westbrook paid tribute to his late friend Khelcey Barrs III by writing her initials on both shoes.
Going 2 for 10 in the first half, Westbrook actually shot pretty poorly while wearing his Air Jordan 10 “MVP Orange” PE, so he made a switch at halftime.
“They were working,” Westbrook said about the AJ10 “MVP Orange” PE via ESPN’s Royce Young. “They were fine. Just decided to switch.”
In the second half, Westbrook wore a black and blue iteration of the Air Jordan XX8 SE and immediately helped the Thunder take control of the game by scoring 16 points in the third quarter. Westbrook finished the game with 27 points, six rebounds and five assists in the Thunder’s 112-99 win over the Mavs.
