It’s no secret that the Jordan Brand has a distinct way of honoring iconic entities, whether it be players or institutions. With the latest Air Jordan 11 Low set to hit retailers this weekend that pays considerable homage to the Hoyas of Georgetown, Jordan Brand understands basketball royalty. Now while the name may constitute a “different” meaning, it seems to align perfectly with the aforementioned institution of higher learning. Cincinnati Bearcats

The Cincinnati Bearcats were arguably one of the more exciting teams to watch during the mid-to-late 1990s. Led by coach Bob Huggins, the Bearcats would appear in the NCAA tournament consecutively from 1993 through 2001. However, it would be in 1997 that the Bearcats would become “en vogue” to sneakerheads as they became one of three universities to be sponsored by the Jordan Brand.
Over the years, various Bearcat palyers would sport intriguing Air Jordan and Jordan Brand silhouettes such as Kenyon Martin, Rueben Patterson, James White and Danny Fortson.
